Introducing the Green Card Game

You want to immigrate permanently to the United States. You've never been there. You have no close U.S. relatives.

The Cato Institute is launching a new online game called the Green Card Game. The Green Card Game gives Americans an interactive and realistic way to experience the difficulty of legally immigrating to the United States. The game is largely based on the Cato study, "Why Legal Immigration Is Nearly Impossible" by Associate Director of Immigration Studies David J. Bier, and relies as much as possible on the actual rules and regulations governing legal permanent immigration in 2023.
